About The Designer

When John Hattie first starts to sketch a new home he has his client right beside him. The initial sketch starts from the idea given by his client. As he proceeds, he is drawing to the grin on their face and the twinkle in their eye. Together John and his clients work as a "team" to design the home of their dreams.

John Hattie has been in the housing industry for 27 years, and designing unique homes for 21 of these years. In the past eight to ten years John has been actively involved in the home designing industry, as the founding president of the Nova Scotia Home Designers Association. He is still currently involve with the Association as Vice President and chair person of the Education Certification Committee / Council. John is committed to continuing education and upgrading, taking courses through the Association and other training opportunities

In recent years, four of John's designs have received prestigious awards. His design philosophy is not just about the size of the home, but about the quality of lifestyle within the home and exterior personality of the home.

Clients can also choose from one of more than 400 stock plans, or sit down and have the home of their dreams custom designed. John Hattie also creates beautiful and imaginative renovation designs enabling you to transform your home into everything that you want it to be.
